While they are capable of flight they seldom do and can be confined with a 48″ fence. Males and females can be easily identified at adulthood. While a hand raised duck can be quite tame, Khaki Campbells are a bit skittish and a different breed would be more suitable as a pet. Ducklings can go outside at 2 weeks during warm weather and 4 weeks in the cold. Have your incubator set up and tested well before eggs arrive. Check the temperature calibration with an external thermometer before use and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Eggs should be stored point down at room temperature for 12 hours then placed in an incubator.Normal Incubation time for Ducks is 28 daysAfter hatching your chicks will need several weeks in a brooder.
