Quite Scarce Tennessee Pre-Civil War Era Issue. The bank was chartered in 1850, opened in 1856, and suspended in 1858 due to speculation in Arkansas land. The bank closed in 1862 with the arrival of Union forces. The $5 features Ceres and Liberty flanking a frame depicting a cotton plant flanked by portraits of Andrew Jackson at left and G. Ambrose Davie at right. The note has nice paper quality and a large Red FIVE protector.
