Hello, Let me begin by saying I am extremely familiar with modern wrist watches. I have sold hundreds of Rolex, Omega, Breitling, etc. Please check out my previous feedback. Selling high-dollar watches is not new to me. Because of this, family members bring me their antique pocket and wrist watches. I know almost nothing about antique watches. That being said, I authenticated this piece by using a timegrapher. It beats at 18,000 VPH. I have come across many replica watches in my time. One thing China always seems to get wrong is the movement. I have not opened it though. If for any reason this watch is found to not be authentic, I’m happy to refund you. eBay’s authentication program should take care of this. Now, on to what I can tell you. This seems to be the only collaboration between VC and LeCoultre. The 33mm unisex diamond Mystery Dial, reference 7281 from the 1950s. Silver dial with diamond hour, minute hands and markers. The watch winds and runs. This has been with my mother-in-law’s collection for 40+ years. I do not have any service history. Judging by the scratched crystal (not sapphire due to the period), I would guess it hasn’t been touched. The watch shows its age, but by no means would I say it’s “beat up”. Nothing a polish and a service wouldn’t take care of. I’m hesitant to get it serviced. I know it can impact value. I’ll let the future owner decide what to do with it. Chances are that if you’re looking at this, you know what you’re looking at. The band is obviously a cheap, aftermarket and meaningless. Just as 99.9% of these examples are.
