How to Determine what axle you need:If your building a trailer from scratch then you do not have to worry about measuring anything. Just pick the width of axle you would likeHub Face (HF):Refers to the length of the axle measured from the base of one wheel stud to the base of the wheel stud on the opposite side of the axle.(where the studs protrude out from the hub or where the two wheels butt up to each other)(when hubs are mounted on the beam).You can measure from one hub where the studs start on the drum, to the hub on the other side of the axle.You can also get this by measuring from where the two wheels butt together on one side of the axle to where the two wheels but up together on theother side of the axle. (This measurement is important but not a deal breaker if its a inch or so different than what we show)Spring Center (SC):is the approximate width of your trailer.
