For sale is a Matched PAIR of 6N6P USSR NOS/NIB tube same data January 1983, special selection of four tubes with identical or very close parameters.If you have experience in the field of tubes you can find in the photos and in the details below the testing / sorting procedure and all the results, and if you do not have the necessary experience to understand what is explained you can truIn the pictures you can see an example of all measured parameters for a quad, they are exceptional.The best method of selecting tubes in pairs is to overlap the G1/Ia curves, the superimposed curves show us that the tubes have the same plate current and the same transconductance in the whole operating range. One point matching method used with analog tube testers is a pretty good compromise solution, but identical tubes at one point can have big differences at higher or lower currents, testing in 20÷50 points with these devices and drawing curves take hours for each tube. Roetest does this quickly and with great precision. This is the best way to select PAIRS, based on overlapping curves. The tubes meet datasheet specifications, first the quality tests – filament test, shorts test, gassy test (Ig1, vacuum factor, Ia variation with 1M2 grid series resistor), kathode isolation (leakage to filament), then quantity tests – value of current for plate, kathod, G1, value for transconductance, gain, G1 curve, Ia curve etc., all results for these tests can be seen on te datasheet delivered for each tube. In the pictures you can see an example of all measured parameters for a PAIR, they are exceptional. Such quads are very rare; we could select only few quads from 300 tubes. Usual offers for matched tubes are 10% Ip or Gm or both, this quads is selected +/-2%, the best tubes from a batch of 300, a selection much over any “factory matched” or matched with old analog and imprecise devices where only reading error could be 2% and adding 5% accuracy, thermal error…. 6N6P is direct replacement for the very expensive 6N30P / 6N30P-EV / 6N30P-DR, some audiophiles recommend this replacement for better sound in some pre/amplifiers, we got feedbacks from buyers about better sound in Audio Research line, LAMM line, Ayon CD. Condition for testing 6n6p are as follows: grid bias -2V, 120V plate voltage, 6.3Vdc heater voltage, the expected results as confirmed by the producer are 20-40mA plate current (typical 30) and transconductance of 8.1-13.9mA/V (typical 11), Ig1 under 0.5 µA and leakage h-k under 30µA. We test transconductance dynamically, using 1.4 kHz sine signal filtered and measured at output, with well calibrated L1-3 an L3-3 tube testers. For a pair of 6N6P, we have 4 values for Ip and 4 values for S. Any four values will be maximum +/- 2.5% compared to their average value. That means max. +/- 0.28 mA/V for S and +/-0.75 mA for Ip. 6N6P equivalents The 6n6p tube is a replacement for ECC99 and E182CC, but only after small modifications in heater circuit (6n6p heater pins 4 and 5, 9 is screen, ECC heater pins 4+5 and 9). ECC99 and E182CC work with 6.3V or 12.6V heater voltage, 6n6p work only with 6.3V. An advantage for the 6n6p – it has a screen between the two triodes inside, which helps to reduce the cross-talk. I have personally tried, in the same socket of my test amplifier, 6N6P, 6N1P, 6N1P-EV, ECC88, E188CC, E88CC, E288CC, 6N23P, 6N23p-EV, 6N2P, 6N2P-EV (with a much higher gain for the last 2, like ECC83 / 12AX7).
