eBay History of Mr John silverplate, he was born John Pico Harberger, and became a national designer for hats and later jewelry, with exquisite designs. He began 1948, and ended 1989. He began styling hats for his mother who also did jewelry. Born in Munich, Germany, age 17 came to U.S.A.. Already using silver and other shiny material, and later silverplate. This lighter is stamped Arrow, Japan. I have never run across any of their designs until this lighter, the lower section could hold matches or other tobacco related items. Produced when smoking was more fashionable & elegant that today, but this lighter has stood the test of time and is still elegant wherever it is sitting. 5 1/4″ tall and a diameter of 2″.
