This stunning Art Deco lusterware 21-piece service set; teapot, sugar and creamer, plates, cups and cup saucers. Plates are 7-5/8 inches diameter. Iridescent peach, or copper (copper-cream) color with black handles, spout and edge pinstriping- classic Art Deco styling. Teapot, creamer and sugar are oval-diamond shaped. 👉 WHAT’S INCLUDED? – 21 total pieces; 1 teapot with lid, 1 sugar bowl with lid, 1 creamer, 4 coffee/tea cups, 6 cup saucers and 6 entrée plates. 👉 CONDITION – Extraordinary; teapot, sugar bowl & lids, all cups & saucers and 5 of the 6 plates are completely crack and chip free. I could not find or feel anything on 19 of 21 pieces. Some pieces have areas of color loss from use wear. Plates show the most wear (to centers), one plate has a small flea-bite chip to the edge. The creamer has an old crack/chip to the edge; the 3/4 inch crack is stained from years of storage and use, this helps to authenticate age. Chipping from the crack is mostly to the inside/underside of creamer lip/edge and only noticeable upon close scrutiny. It does nothing to detract from the displayability of the set. Simply put- the condition is quite remarkable for a used delicate porcelain bisque set of this age. Patina like this only happens with extra-special gentle use and care (never in a dishwasher!). I’m guessing this only had one owner before we rescued it. Review all images for condition accuracy and verification. 👉 IDENTIFYING MARKS & SIGNATURES – Oremont Bavaria (Schonwald of Arzburg, Germany). All pieces are signed with an ink-stamp circle “MADE IN GERMANY” with a number “7” or “33” in bulls-eye center circle. The teapot, sugar, creamer and cup saucers have number 33, the plates and cups are number “7”. A number “25” is on the inside of the teapot lid, the sugar bowl lid has “26” in gold-leaf. The creamer is the only piece with an “OREMONT BAVARIA” signature logo, an earlier version, which was applied over the Made in Germany logo circle underneath glaze. 👉 APPROXIMATE SIZE – Plates are 7-5/8 inches in diameter, saucers 5-5/8 inches diameter, cups 3-1/2 inches diameter by 2-1/4 inches tall, approximately 4-6 ounce capacity. Teapot is 5-1/4 inches tall, by 8-1/8 inches spout to handle wide, approximately 24 ounce capacity, sugar bowl is 4 inches tall by 6-1/2 inches handle to handle wide, creamer is 2-3/4 inches tall by 5 inches handle to spout wide, each hold approximately 8 ounces. 👉 YEAR OF ORIGIN – Circa 1920-27. 👉 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION – My research and comparisons of similar pieces, sets and logos, have led me to believe that this is a rare early version of these sets and the only set I could find that has conventional salad plates. All I found were “luncheon” style plates, with cup holders built into the non-round plates.
