A special indirectly heated tube from 1928 with one end of the 15 volt AC heater connected internally to the cathode. This voltage was chosen by the manufacturer to make use of the 15 volt AC transformers used in toy trains. The result was an AC tube with a standard 4 pin base which could be used to “electrify” battery receivers.
