Hobby Master General Dynamics F-111F Aardvark – “Grim Reapers” – RAF Lakenheath England 1991 No. HA3019, Vintage year – 2011, Scale – 1:72 Unit – 70-25403, 493rd TFS “Grim Reapers” – In Jan. 1960, the 493rd TFS “Grim Reapers”/48th TFW equipped with the F-100 Super Sabre moved to RAF Lakenheath, England. In 1972 the squadron was re-equipped with the F-4 Phantom II which they flew until 1977 when the F-4s were sent to Nellis AFB and after a few more trades, 493rd TFS received the General Dynamics F-111F Aardvark. F-111F 70-25403 was produced in 1970 as C/N E2-42 and assigned to the CO of the 493rd TFS. The 493rd TFS re-equipped with the F-15C Eagle in 1994. Campaign – RAF Lakenheath England 1991 Markings – Dark tan with green and dark green camouflage with L and 493 TFS on tail with other id for the “Grim Reapers”. Comes with landing gear and other attachments. Model – General Dynamics F-111F Aardvark – used as an all-weather attack aircraft capable of low-level penetration of enemy territory and could also be used for reconnaissance and electronic warfare.
