NOTE: to clarify any confusion, the item called Case Trimmer is the main trimmer body with the bearing and carbide endmill. Each $5 bushing is sold separately so you can buy just the ones you reload for. So, at a minimum, you would need to buy the Case Trimmer and at least one Bushing to be able to trim cases. Please add them all to your cart and then go to checkout so it only charges shipping once. Important: This system uses interchangeable bushings to fit various cartridge families. The bushings are a light press fit in the sealed ball bearing. The bushings for 30-caliber and under use an o-ring for retention, as seen in the photo. Bushings for cartridges above 30-caliber are a friction fit. I include a wood dowel to reach inside the housing and pop out the bushing from the inside. This 3D-printed case trimmer is similar to a few other drill powered case trimmers, such as the WFT / World’s Finest Trimmer. These simpler versions are not under patent protection which is why I can offer you this at a great price! The 35-cal trimmer comes with a cutter that has a 10mm shank and will fit into any 3/8 drill chuck. Trims up to a 35-caliber case, depending on the bushing used. The 416-caliber trimmer has a 12mm cutter shank and requires a 1/2″ drill. What’s more, the endmill is a razor-sharp carbide cutter. The WFT comes with a steel cutter and you have to pay another $25 USD for their carbide cutter! This is important for one very simple reason: chamfering. Using a super hard and sharp cutter at high speed leaves no burr, as seen in the photo. It does have a 90* corner, though. 1000+ rpm is ideal, most cordless drills run up to 1300 rpm. If you wet tumble after trimming, you won’t even have to touch it. The stainless media will peen the corner and you’re good to go.The shaft coupler will allow you to mount the 10mm shank 35-cal trimmer directly to a 1/2″ motor shaft, such as an old furnace motor that you may have lying around. You set the length on the trimmer by loosening the pinch bolts and sliding the carbide cutter in or out. The bolts thread into embedded stainless steel nuts to avoid stripping the threads. Tip to avoid making a mess with the brass shavings: Wrap masking tape around the body of the trimmer (over the drain holes) to hold the shavings. Every 100 cases or so, remove the tape and dump out the brass shavings. I am going to keep adding more calibers as options. If you want a caliber that I don’t have listed, let me know and I’ll make it top priority. You can use the same bushing for any cartridge in the same family but with a smaller neck diameter. For example, with the 308 bushing you can also trim 7mm-08, 260 Remington, and 243 Winchester. With the 6.5 Creedmoor bushing you can also trim 6mm Creedmoor and 22 Creedmoor (an AWESOME round, BTW – highly recommended). With the 223 bushing you can also trim 20 Practical, 221 Fireball, 17 Remington, and 17-223. Any cartridge with the same shoulder diameter and angle will work, up to the neck diameter of the listed cartridge. You could also drill it out to 6x45mm or 25-45 Sharps size (it will still work with 223).30-06 also works with 270 and 25-06.300 Win Mag also works with 264 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag.300 WSM also works with 7mm WSM and 270 WSM. Plus the wildcat 6.5 WSM. So why should you buy this plastic-body trimmer instead of a WFT? Price! The WFT2 costs $70 USD plus $25 per bushing. So that’s $170 US dollars if you want to trim four calibers. This one does the exact same thing for 1/4 the price. With a carbide cutter, don’t forget. And I’m making extra bushings for cheap. You may also have seen the WCT – World’s Cheapest Trimmer on eBay. It’s not a bad little device but it’s not ACTUALLY the cheapest because you’d have to buy one for each cartridge. So this one is cheaper :-). Remember: you can add bushings at $6 each. And again: my cutter is carbide, theirs is steel. Satisfaction is guaranteed – if you receive your trimmer and don’t like it, just send it back in like-new condition for a full refund. Or if it breaks but that is very unlikely. The filament used is high-strength PETG which is much more durable and temperature resistant than PLA in this application.
