U or L or the location of the higher shelf (as you can see in pictures). Rug in the pictures is 5’x7′ and desk fits perfectly on it.The wire shelves are a nice touch. They provide stability to legs and are convenient storage for headphones, router, controllers etc. They are high enough that I can fit my PC tower and printer underneath them and you can strap wires to them easily. Power strip on top of side desk is nice for charging devices.IMPORTANT – I gave this desk 5 stars, but there is one caveat. If you need to attach a keyboard underneath it might be tough. There is a bar running the underside length of each piece of desk. I use a rectangular piece of wood (from an old roll top desk) that is perfect for my corner monitor/keyboard setup (see picture).
