Mechanism: Raketa-2623.H The watches were produced at the Petrodvorets Watch Factory in the city of St. Petersburg. The first wrist watch “Raketa 24” began production towards the end of the 1970s, and the target audience was soldiers serving deep underwater – on submarines. By remaining on a submarine for weeks and months at a time,many soldiers could naturally lose their sense of time, namely day and night. The “Raketa 24” watch also helped residents of distant lands – the Arctic. Where sometimes it gets dark already at 12 oclock in the afternoon, such clocks with 24-hour markings made it possible to understand whether it was night or day, six oclock in the evening or morning, at any time of daylight.
