Item: PWR Transmission Oil Cooler Kit 280x255x19mm (5/16HB) PWO5631 Description 19mm Plate & Fin Transmission Cooler PWR’s patented dimpled design universal plate and fin Transmission Oil Cooers are made of a full aluminium construction that allows the cooler to be lightweight, compact and rigid while offering high heat transfer and corrosion resistance. The patented dimple plates re-direct the oil flow, and in conjunction with the unique louvered fin design provide highly efficient cooling with low-pressure drop. PWR plate and fin transmission coolers are manufactured in 19mm core size for transmission, power steering and differential cooling for race and road applications as well as small engine cooling. Standard product range fittings include 3/8″, 5/16″ hose barb, -6AN screw fittings and 16×1.5mm metric female thread which allows for a quality tridon sensor available in wide range of temp selections, however PWR’s flexible manufacturing facility can offer custom fittings for specific applications for fan operation. Manufacturing At the heart of PWR is our factory. The Seco Warwick atmospheric controlled braze furnace lets us manufacture the core of our heat exchangers to our specifications we are not dependent on someone else making the core. Once a design is finished, tubes are cut to size, aluminum coil is run through one of our fin machines to create the fin, sidebands and tanks are punched out on our Turret Presses. Once the core is stacked and header plates put on, it goes through the furnace. Of course, every core is tested after this for leaks before it is either shipped out as a core or tanks are welded on to build a complete assembly. Research & Development PWR spends around 6% of its revenue each year on R&D to keep at the leading edge in cooling solutions. By engineering different tube styles with multiple fin styles and densities (potentially within the same core) PWR engineers are able to tune the performance characteristics of its heat exchangers. This allows us to maximise the aerodynamic characteristics to the customer requirements, reduce dry and wet weight, as well as providing the necessary thermal efficiency.
