eBay Found in my Virtual Yard Sale: A copy of the February 1988 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman. For those of you keeping score, that’s volume 56, issue 9. See photos for the complete table of contents, but this one includes great articles on 70-ton diesels, the “Carpak” boxcars of western Canada (BCR and PGE), techinques for visualizing and planning photographs, an inexpensive and easy method for mass-producing buildings with acrylic cores, and much more. Also includes detailed plans for the Pullman Standard/Trinity Industries 5,280 cubic foot covered hopper. This issue is complete and intact, including the special fold-out plans. It shows some typical discoloration from age and wear around the corners. There is a bit of crinkling here and there, as if from moisture, but there isn’t what I would call “water damage” or any musty or mildewy odor that I can detect. It’s a solid copy, and it will come in a magazine polybag with an acid-free board (along with some extra cardboard outside to help make sure it survives the USPS). The goal of my Virtual Yard Sale is to get stuff out of the house never to return. Unless I somehow screw up a listing, I do not accept returns on these items.
