Item Description : Cap Badge New condition : All items are brand new unless otherwise stated in this description or the heading Item Size: Varies due to shape of badge. UK Specification. Item Colour: As per UK specification exactly as seen in photo. Item Material: Exactly UK specification materials for this badge. Again as seen in photo. Fitting : As per UK spec for this badge, may vary from photo if specification has changed which we do not control and on occasion they do change the fittings without notice to us, if in doubt ask in advance but in reality a fitting is a fitting it matters not. If your badge carries a Cotter Pin on the reverse please note they are meant to be cut to size using a pair of pliers like all Military do. Manufacture Process: Hand dropped stamped bespoke here in the UK from genuine UK manufactured tools and dies. So if you receive for arguments sake a “white metal”, “staybright” or “brass” badge then that’s what is current specification set by the UK for that item at this present time, again if in doubt please ask but do not afterwards state it is “nothing like great granddads badge” because specification changes regularly and has done regularly since WW2 which collectors using Kipling and King as a reference book regularly get wrong on a daily basis !! Packaging : All items are posted inside a padded bubble jiffy bag as seen in the photo which is recommended by both E bay and Royal Mail for these items , the item will not be packed or wrapped inside anything else inside the packaging as the outer packaging is sufficient. Postage : ALL our items are posted by 2nd class recorded post, there is no option to this under our contract so please do not ask for any other postage method and at no time will we send anything unrecorded which makes it a safer marketplace for both seller and buyer. Packing Powder : All our cap badges are brand new unless otherwise stated and are delivered as QMS direct stock ready to polish / wear but may come to you with moisture reducing powder on them (looks like a white residue) which is there to soak up moisture in transit inside the jiffy bag and avoid tarnish or green moisture build ups especially on old badges, this rubs off easily with a bit of elbow grease and effort and is after all there to protect your badge for you, there is nothing wrong with the badge just needs a clean. Could all buyers please be aware that by nature of this product being a metal based cap badge when it arrives it may need cleaning, polishing or buffing as they may come as first stock, QMS surplus stock or UK overstock and may be dulled or tarnished due to being in storage for many years, but all badges polish up lovely, many of our badges are very very old original stock and as such some can be over 50 years old or even older and therefore like all metals they will dull with age, BUT with a bit of love patience and initiative will clean up just lovely as do all cap badges even by those with no experience of these things. remember that when issued by the QMS from any era NO badges I repeat NO badges are polished by QMS staff as that is something that all troops are expected to be able to do, simple stuff … so please be aware that your badge MAY but not always need cleaning but as noted this is not always the case especially with newer regiments. new means shiney, old means dulled and may need a clean for those tender souls out there. Feedback : Please be fair and make sure that you leave The Veterans Store 5 stars in the DSR ratings on feedback, because we always deliver items within the advertised times, and correctly as to the order placed, any items that are damaged or do not arrive are ARE always the fault of Royal Mail not us so please do not damage our feedback or DSR ratings because we will not be at fault.
