Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at one of Electro Voices most interesting microphones ever manufactured and sold as a variant under the Knight brand name during the 1950’s. It comes with the period Electro Voice 423A model desk stand shown. This is the Electro Voice 926 model crystal microphone which closely resembles the E.V 623 model. I don’t know the model # that Knight gave this microphone as there is very little info on them. The main difference between the 623 and 926 being that the 926 did not have an on / off switch and had a crystal element. It should be noted that this 926 like most of that era no longer works. This should be used for display or repair purposes only. Not to say it can’t be rewired but buyer beware. There will be some work involved. The polished chrome housing has slight wear but overall pretty darn nice as seen in the pics provided. Most of the wear is located on the tip of the mic where the brass is exposed in several tiny spots and the top of the barrel / tube. This is a very good example of a 60+ year old 926 variant though. I try to provide the clearest pictures possible so you know exactly what you’re getting. There are zero dents on this old girl. 100% original and nothing is loose inside. The joint mechanism is fixed in place and tilts just slightly. The mic has a shortened cable with the period Cannon male XLR male end connector. The mic is a true 7 on a scale of 1 – 10. MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE… The stand is period E.V 423A model that compliments the mic nicely and makes for a very stable platform. This is an all aluminum stand with a satin chrome finish and satin chrome stem / riser. This model was widely produced by Electro Voice during the 1950’s through 1970’s. This particular E.V stand has typical wear as you can see. Some small scuff marks, scratches and lite pitting on the base. There are no dents or fractures on this stand and the satin chrome stem shows very lite wear as well. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are included and in great shape. Mic stand with mic is appx 10 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide. Mic stand is a true 6 + on a scale of 1 – 10. A fun piece in which to display anywhere in the home, studio or man cave. As with all my vintage microphones… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid.
