Hello again vintage Ludwig drum fans. Here we have a classic vintage Ludwig Downbeat drum kit in the highly sought after 20, 12, 14 inch diameter configuration. Matched set of drums — not cobbled together — with corresponding serial numbers. Circa 1965. Chicago, USA — the good stuff! Finished in original silver sparkle. No modifications! This kit is in super original and excellent condition. Unlike many of these vintage kits, there are no modifications to the shells. Tight seams on each drum, no lifting or bubbling. No added holes in the shells, no missing or broken hardware. Before listing this kit I searched online and found only a handful of vintage Downbeat sets for sale, with only a few having no modifications to the drum shells, wrap finish or hardware. Drums have even exterior coloring, no blotchy discolored areas. Beautiful sparkle finish that looks amazing in natural lighting and under stage lights. Shell interiors have their original white paint. Interiors, bearing edges and reinforcement rings in excellent condition. All chrome hardware is in excellent condition, no rust or pitting, brilliant chrome finish. Each drum has its original keystone badges and grommets, all in excellent condition, no damage, no loose areas. Details/Specs: Bass drum — 14 deep x 20 inches round. Serial numbers 290123. Original hoops with original matching inlay. No missing inlay sections. No cracks in the hoops. The hoop black paint has been restored to a rich black finish. All inlay sections and original and match perfectly to the rest of the drum. Original Ludwig inscribed rail mount and post, in excellent order. All lugs, tension rods and claws are original and excellent. Original legs/spurs and mounts. Rubber feet on the leg tips in mint condition. Original cymbal tilter/arm mount – the arm itself is missing which is the case on most of the drums. Original Ludwig WeatherMaster resonate head, Remo Pin Stripe coated batter head, both in excellent condition. Floor tom — 14 x 14 inches on legs. Serial numbers 290138. Original lugs, hoops, legs and mounts. Original internal white pad muffler and baseball bat control arm. Rubber feet on all three legs in mint condition. Remo clear batter and resonate heads in excellent condition. Rack tom — 8 deep x 12 inches round. Serial numbers 287935. Original lugs, hoops, legs and tom post mount. Original internal white pad muffler and baseball bat control arm. Remo clear batter and resonate heads in excellent condition.
